Well, would you look at that, it’s officially now 2016! And the lovely people over at Birchbox want to inspire you to have the Best. Year. Ever. This month they are joining forces with Pinterest to help you find inspiration for the year ahead. From beauty tutorials to yummy recipes, travel inspiration to street style, Pinterest is without doubt my favourite place to find ideas for my everyday life and I can’t think of a more perfect collaboration. (I’m (Mostly) Yummy Mummy over there too if you want to follow me!) Over on the Birchbox blog this month though, there are going to be lots of ideas on how to use Pinterest to help make 2016 your Best. Year. Ever.
This month Birchbox is packed full of beauty goodies as you might expect. What brighter way than cheering up a January day than coming home to this *swoon* but what I really loved this month was the added extra of these little Birchbox x Pinterest postcards. They have been designed exclusively for Birchbox by illustrator Viktorija Semjonova and are ridiculously sweet. I have already sent one to a friend and I suspect the others will be pinned up somewhere I love them!
So, back to those beauty goodies! I have to say that this has been one of my favourite Birchboxes yet. First of all we have the Absolution Cleansing Water. This gentle cleanser is simply applied using a cotton pad to make light work of removing your makeup and is packed full of lovely ingredients like hazelnut oil and aloe vera. Next we have the Parlor Moisturizing & Repairing Shampoo and Conditioner. I love Parlor products as they always feel really nourishing but in a lightweight formula. They smell amazing too! Next we have another favourite brand of mine with the Caudalie Fleur de Vigne Shower Gel. This has been formulated for even the most sensitive skin types and is enriched with calming aloe vera and fragranced with uplifting white rose, rose pepper and grape blossom.
Next we have the Benefit They’re Real Tinted Primer which I was so excited to try out having already read so many amazing things about it. This mink coloured primer separates, lengthens and boosts each individual lash to prepare it for your mascara. Apply one coat from root to tip before applying your mascara for some serious volume. Or you can even rock it alone for a more natural daytime look. The primer doesn’t clump and stays super soft for hours so you could even wear on its own in the day before adding a coat of mascara later for the evening. And last but by no means least we have this lovely Birchbox Compact Mirror as a beauty bonus. It’s a perfect size to pop in your handbag or makeup bag.
As always, a subscription to Birchbox costs just £10 + £2.95 P&P each month which I think is amazingly good value. The value of the product samples you receive is much greater and besides, it is such a lovely treat each month. Birchbox day has become my favourite day of the month! Subscribers and new customers can also shop all products at full size in the Birchbox shop and right now the winter sale is in full swing with up to 60% off a whole host of amazing brands but you’ll need to hurry!
Disclaimer: For the purpose of this review I was very kindly sent the press sample shown here from Birchbox but all opinions are of course my own. I only ever promote brands that I truly love and I really really really love Birchbox!
