We are huge fans of Muddy Puddles so when they got in touch asking if my youngest daughter would like to put one of their new jackets through its paces, we jumped at the chance. Quite literally in her case. We were sent the Rocky Road Puffa Jacket in this gorgeous plum colour.
This super snug jacket is lovely and padded but yet still feels lightweight and not at all restrictive. It has a zip fastening which is nice and chunky for little hands and also zipped pockets. I love that it is that bit longer in length and the elasticated cuffs keep her super warm. The jacket is shower resistant and also comes with a padded hood. The hood though along with the sleeves are actually detachable so come spring time (oh do come on spring time!) the jacket transforms into a warm and very handy little gillet. I love that it is so practical for keeping her warm now but the fact that it will go on to be perfect for when the weather gets that bit warmer is such a huge bonus.
Children grow so quickly and the more wear that you can get out of something the better of course. Especially when it comes to the bigger and more practical purchases like coats. I must add though that on the advice of the lovely people over at Muddy Puddles, we went with the next size up when choosing the coat and I’m so glad we did. It actually fits her fine now while she’s still wearing layer upon layer of clothes (somebody please remind me when is spring supposed to arrive?) but there is still room to grow in it without drowning her.
