When the lovely people over at House of Fraser got in touch asking if I would like to choose something to review from their range of outdoor toys, I have to say that I was really pleasantly surprised with just how much they had on offer. It probably wouldn’t be the first place that I would think of to look for something like that if I’m being honest but how wrong was I! From bikes and scooters to paddling pools, swings, water blasters and football goals. There really is a great range whether you are looking for something big like a see-saw or small like a frisbee.
I love this time of year when the children get to spend more time in the garden and especially with the school holidays just around the corner now, I wanted to get them something that I knew would give them hours of fun. It wasn’t very hard for me to choose something as my two little ones have been badgering me for a swing for months now so this was a perfect opportunity.
I chose this Sports Power Single Swing which is great value in the sale right now at just £29.99. It arrived flat packed (as you would expect) but I have to say that it was really easy to assemble. I’m pretty handy with a spanner anyway but the instructions were really straightforward to follow and the pieces all fitted together perfectly. I assembled it single handedly in less than half an hour it was that easy.
The swing has a strong steel frame and weather resistant paint finish so it is definitely made for long lasting fun. It anchors into the ground with special metal pegs/legs. I have to say that my girls have really put it through its paces and it seems really safe and sturdy I am impressed. The rope swings are height adjustable and the seat is moulded for a comfy play. It is recommended for ages 3+ and to give you an idea, my girls are 7 and 9 and the swing is perfect for them but I can see that they will still have years of play left too thanks to the adjustable ropes.
It is so lovely for them to have their very own swing in the garden. They have played on it every single day since we got it – rain or shine the loons that they are! It’s just the right size for our (not huge) lawn too as it really doesn’t take up much room at all. I did notice that they do a double version too in the same range if you were looking for a bigger set though. We absolutely love this swing from House of Fraser and would definitely recommend it. I think it is exceptionally good value for such a strong garden swing. Here’s to lots more days enjoying the garden!
